What’s the Difference between a Standard Shoe and Extra Depth Shoe?

Most standard width shoes are approximately 3 to 5 inches wide, depending on the size of your shoe. As you go up half a shoe size, the width of your shoe will increase by approximately 2.25mm.

If you have an extra wide foot, you will need to look for extra wide and extra depth shoes which have more millimetres in width than normally prescribed for your shoe size. A wide-width shoe will add between 4-8mm to the standard width. An extra wide-width and extra depth shoe may add up to 16mm to the standard width.
